Tourism & Travel - Nepal's Risk Shield
We're backing Nepal’s vibrant tourism and hospitality sector. Nepal welcomed over 1.15 million international visitors in 2025, with strong growth continuing into 2026. Tourists are drawn by the Himalayas, world-class trekking, rich cultural heritage, and growing interest in adventure and wellness travel.
Our focus is on hotels, trekking agencies, and travel operators. Nepal currently has 2 five-star hotels, around 15 four-star, and over 60 three-star properties. International chains are entering fast — Marriott, Hilton, Accor, and Radisson have all opened or announced projects in Kathmandu and Pokhara, signaling rising standards and investor confidence. Hotels and restaurants together generate over Rs 326 billion annually, while the sector contributes 7–8% to GDP and supports over 1 million jobs.
It’s a high-upside play on a still-low base. Seasonality and infrastructure gaps are the risks, but as arrivals head toward two million, our holdings should see strong growth.
